Dial Kids! Body Wash & Foaming Hand Soap - A Review & Giveaway!

It's time for another review and giveaway! This one should appeal to all of my readers who are parents. Purex Insiders and Dial sent me a bottle of Dial Baby Fragrance Free Body + Hair Wash and Dial Kids Foaming Hand Wash to review and give away. Both products are free of parabens and artificial dyes.

I know lots of parents that have to be very careful with the kind of body wash and shampoo they use on their babies/toddlers. Thankfully, Eliana doesn't seem to react to much, but I went ahead and tried Dial Baby Fragrance Free Body + Hair Wash on her anyway. I have to admit, I like at least a little scent when I use body wash and shampoo. This seriously has no scent. I think this product would be fabulous for anyone with kids who have sensitive skin. It cleansed well, and it was super mild. Eliana didn't mind at all when it got in her eyes.

I know I just admitted that I like products that have a little scent. However, one scent that I typically do not like is watermelon. I don't like watermelon lotion, soap, candy, or the fruit itself. You can imagine how thrilled I was when I opened the box to find Dial Kids Foaming Hand Wash...in watermelon scent. However, I love this soap! I'm not kidding! This smells so good! I'm also a fan of foaming soap. I'm not sure why, but I just love it. Eliana likes this soap as well. She loves pushing the pump herself, and she loves the smell. I tend to buy the cheapest hand soap I can, but this may be one that I continue to buy after we've used this bottle. It smells great, and cleanses well.

Purex Crystals ScentSplash...A Review & Giveaway!

It's time for another review and giveaway courtesy of Purex Insiders! This time I'm reviewing Purex Crystals ScentSplash. This is similar to Purex Crystals except it's in liquid form. It's an in-wash fragrance booster that helps eliminate laundry odors and keep laundry fresh.

I tried the Fresh Spring Waters scent, and I loved it! It smells so clean! Purex claims the scent lasts for months. I haven't had the product that long, but I can say it lasts for at least a week. It's super easy to use. You just pour about a half of a capful into your washer (or more or less depending on your personal preference).

Dial Sugar Cane Hand Soap...A Giveaway.

It's time for another quick product review and giveaway! Purex Insiders sent me a bottle of Dial Sugar Cane Husk Scrub Deep Cleansing Moisturizing Hand Soap. I just realized how long of a name that was. Anyway, there's also a giveaway at the end of this post. It's going to have to be a quick one though. It will end tomorrow night.

This soap really does live up to its name. I wash my hands A LOT, and I felt like this soap helped moisturize them. I really enjoy soap that has the little micro scrubbers in it. My 3-year-old used to hate them, but she tried this soap and loved it (who knows...toddlers). The smell is hard to describe, but if you've ever smelled another product that smells like sugar cane, you'll get the idea. It isn't my favorite smell in the world, but it also didn't offend me.

Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash...A Giveaway!

Hey, guys! I have another giveaway for you, and I'll have some more coming up soon! This one is for Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash. Dial Miracle Oil Body Wash is infused with Marula Oil. This oil comes from a tree in Africa, and it helps moisturize skin, and it gives the body wash its scent.

Now, I'll be honest up front. This scent was a bit strong for me because I'm pretty sensitive to perfumes. However, I gave it a chance to see how well it moisturized. I felt like my skin was definitely softer after using this product, and the scent didn't last all day which was fine with me.

However, I thought I'd let my mom try this body wash because I thought she might like the scent more than I did, and she happened to be in town. I was right, she really liked it! She agreed that the body wash seemed to moisturize well, and she said she would definitely buy this product. In fact, she took the bottle home with her (which is why I didn't get to take any photos of the product).

It works just as well as the other Purex detergent that I use, and it saved me time by not having to take off the lid, pour in the detergent, and then dump it in the washer. A Review & Giveaway...Purex Crystals Aromatherapy Well Being

Thanks to Purex, I was recently given a bottle of Purex Crystals to review. I've reviewed Purex Crystals before, but this time it's the Aromatherapy Well Being version.

The last time I reviewed laundry crystals I loved them because I was using homemade laundry detergent, and they added a great scent to it. This time I'm quite happy with the Purex laundry detergent scent I've been using, so I didn't feel the need to change it.

The Well Being version is supposed to brighten your mood with the infused essential oils and fresh scent. I have to admit, I'm not completely convinced of this. I have recently started looking into using essential oils (mainly thieves oil for immunity), but I can't decide for sure how I feel about them. However, the product still has a nice floral smell, and it would be worth using if you wanted to add a scent to your laundry.

This product is very easy to use. You simply pour as many crystals as you want in with your laundry detergent. The bottle doesn't give specific instructions for how much to use, so I plan on trying various amounts until I figure out what works best.

"Thrifty Thursdays"... Dial Coconut Water Refreshing Mango Body Wash

Today's blog feature is, "Thrifty Thursdays." There are all kinds of possibilities for what Thursdays will bring. It may be a giveaway for a product I am reviewing (as it is today), maybe it will be tips for how to save a little money, or maybe it will be budgeting tips. Regardless, come back each week to see what info I have for you.

Once again, the Purex Insiders have given me a body wash to review. This time it is Dial's Coconut Water Refreshing Mango body wash. Just so I'm clear, the Dial brand provided me with this sample of Dial Coconut Water Refreshing Mango Body Wash for a product review, but all of the opinions expressed here are my own. 

I love the smell of this body wash! Ask my husband. I am always on the hunt for a candle, lotion, body wash, etc. that reminds me of the beach. Dial has captured that with this scent! The mango and coconut combination make me feel like I am getting ready to go spend a few hours at the beach (I wish!). The scent isn't so powerful that it lasts all day, but it is quite nice while it's there.

According to Dial, coconut water is full of antioxidants and electrolytes that help hydrate your body. They also say that Mango is nutrient-rich. I would agree that this moisturizing body wash helps hydrate my skin. I have very dry skin, so it takes a lot to make it soft and smooth. This product does a decent job. I still need to wear lotion after using it, but it is MUCH better than simply using bar soap.

Purex Crystals Fabric Softener Sheets

It's time for another Purex Insiders review and giveaway! This time I'm reviewing Purex Crystals Fabric Softener Dryer Sheets.

Let me just say...I LOVE these dryer sheets!!! I normally buy the off-brand dryer sheets, and they do a fine job. However, the Purex dryer sheets fill my laundry room with a wonderful aroma! I never smell my off-brand sheets unless I actually sniff the clothes, but these I can smell as soon as I open the door. I'm planning on stashing a few of these in my closet and hampers to freshen up the smell.

I never notice a lot of static in my clothes, so I can't really say if it did a better job of reducing static cling, but it didn't make it any worse. Purex also says that these dryer sheets repel pet hair and lint. I don't have a pet, so I can't speak to that. I can say that I haven't noticed any lint on my clothes since I've been using these.

No Sort Laundry Detergent...A Giveaway!

Hi, friends! I’m back! I think life has slowed down a tiny bit, so I can get back to blogging a little more regularly. Last time I told you that I have 2 review blogs coming, but now I actually have 3. This will be one of them. I'll try to throw in some cute Eliana posts also. 

Purex asked me to review their No Sort Laundry Detergent. I have to admit…this one scared me. I was super nervous that my laundry was going to end up being a rainbow of colors that I didn’t want. You see, I am a laundry nazi. I read EVERY tag on mine and my husband’s clothes. If it says wash warm, I wash it in warm. If it says wash cold, I wash it in cold water. I figure they know better than I do how their product should be cleaned. The only exception to this is my daughter's clothes. I wash all of hers in cold because for some reason hers tend to shrink more easily. 

According to Purex, this detergent features Anti-Color-Transfer technology which traps loose dyes and prevents color bleeding accidents. I tried the No Sort Laundry Detergent on a few loads. I tried it on both a cold and a warm load, as well as one of my daughter's loads. Nothing faded! In all fairness, the bottle does say not to use it on clothes that haven't been washed at least 5 times. I didn't have the guts to be risky when I tested it. I told you...laundry nazi.

Dial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap...A Giveaway!

It's time for another Purex review and giveaway! Please note: I'm using a different giveaway application this time, so please tell me if you have problems! I am trying to find the best option!

I received two different bottles of Dial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap to test and review! The two scents that I received were Coconut Lime Verbena and Yellow Raspberry & Black Sugar. I have to admit, when I first saw these names I thought, "Eh. I really don't know if I'm going to like these." I'm here to tell you that I was wrong! I actually really like both of these scents! These soaps have just enough scent to them that if you smell your hands they smell nice and clean, but not so much that it overpowers you for the rest of the day!

The soap itself has gentle micro-scrubbers... aka what I like to call "the little gritty pieces." Personally, I love this! It makes me feel like the soap is doing a great job of scrubbing the germs away! However, my 2-year-old is not as big of a fan. She loves to wash her hands, but not with this soap! I'm not sure why, but she does not like the micro-scrubbers!

I received this soap at just the right time! My husband was recovering from the flu, my daughter had a cold, and I ended up with strep! Needless to say I was washing my hands A LOT! Prior to receiving this soap, my hands had become very chapped from washing them so much. I can say that since switching to this premium hand soap, they have not gotten any worse, and they are even a little less chapped! Dial uses a moisturizing formula with skin conditioners to hydrate your skin.

The packaging is bright and colorful! I have one bottle in my kitchen and one bottle in my guest bathroom. They are much prettier than some bottles of hand soap that I've seen.

I'm back with another review and another giveaway! Purex Insiders allowed me to try and review Dial Vitamin Boost Body Wash. They also sent me 2 coupons to give away for a free bottle and a coupon for the men's body wash. I haven't had a chance to get the men's body wash yet, but when I do, I'll try to get Tanner's opinion and update this post.

I love trying new "girly" products, so I was quite excited to try this body wash! The scent that I received was kiwi. I have to admit that I don't usually race to buy every kiwi-scented product that I see on the shelves at the store. However, I really do like the smell of this body wash! If I closed my eyes I could pretend I was back in the Caribbean for a minute. Something about it just seems tropical. Meanwhile, I had 6 inches of snow outside my window a few days ago.

Dial advertises that this body wash is lotion infused, has a moisturizing complex, and helps draw in vitamins and moisture to your skin. Typically when I read something like this about a product I think, "yeah right." All products advertise what you want to hear about them, so I really wasn't confident that this body wash was going to be super helpful in moisturizing and providing me with super soft skin. However, I was quite pleased with this body wash. I really struggle with dry skin during the winter months, and this product seemed to help with that. I won't tell you that it was perfect, but I will say that I could tell a difference.

I love being a Purex Insider! They keep sending me great products to review and give away, and I am so excited about that! As I promised last week, I'm giving away 2 coupons for a free bottle of Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent. Keep reading to find out about this product and to find out how you can win!

Last week I wrote about making my own laundry detergent. I really started doing that for two reasons:
1) Price
2) I wasn't sure how Eliana's skin would react to products, so I wanted to have a very simple detergent without a lot of chemicals.

However, it does take time to make it (especially the liquid version which is what I prefer). So when I was given a free bottle of Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent to try, I was thrilled! Life has been crazy busy since Christmas, and I am all about time-savers right now!

You should also know a little bit more about my laundry detergent background. Prior to making my own detergent, I was a detergent snob. There was one brand I used my entire life, and I was not really willing to budge on that. Thankfully when Tanner and I got married, he didn't care what brand we used (unlike our toothpaste disagreement...we each have our own). Making my own detergent (and trying to be frugal) has made me less of a detergent snob. I'm willing to try other brands now! All of that to say, I think now I can write an honest review of Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent, but 2 years ago would have been a different story!

So, what do you want in a laundry detergent? I can think of a few things off the top of my head: it cleans well, it smells nice not only initially, but the fresh smell lasts, and it isn't expensive. If you have kids, it's also a bonus if they don't get a rash from it. Here are my thoughts on Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent in each of these categories.

1) Does it clean well?
I've done several loads with this detergent. I'll spare you the details of the first load. Let's just say there was a surprise waiting for me in Eliana's crib when I got her up one morning. Anyway, her pillow case, pajamas, sheets, and toys were DISGUSTING!! As in, I almost just threw them all away and started over. What a great time to test out a new detergent! I'm happy to say that Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent did a fantastic job cleaning these! I didn't use any stain remover because I wanted to see how well the detergent worked. I couldn't find any spots after they had been washed! I didn't take any pictures of this load, for obvious reasons.

I decided to test Purex Fresh Mountain Breeze laundry detergent on a white load. I'll be completely honest, I don't bleach my whites as much as I should. Bleach freaks me out for some reason. Anyway, because of that, my whites end up being not so white anymore. Eliana's socks end up being the worst! I took some before and after pictures to show you how the detergent worked. I can't say it got all of the stains out of my whites, but they did smell nice and fresh!

2) Does it smell nice?
Words cannot describe how much better the first load smelled after I used this detergent. However, I'm a weirdo and I think the smell was still in my head, so I washed them again just to be sure the smell was completely gone! Keep in mind, I really do think the smell was gone after the first time, but I just had to be completely sure. All of the loads I have done with Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent have smelled great! I love walking into our laundry room and smelling such a fresh aroma!

3) Is it expensive?
The coupon I received was for a free bottle of Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent, but it had a maximum value of $6.00. In the past, I paid $11.97 at Walmart for a bottle that stated it was for 48 loads. This bottle of Purex Mountain Breeze was $5.50 for 66 loads!!! I definitely think that's a better deal! Granted, I can make my own for much less than that, but this is not an expensive detergent!

4) Bonus: It doesn't give Eliana a rash!

Overall, I am quite pleased with Purex Mountain Breeze Laundry Detergent! I'm not sure yet, but I could possibly be convinced to stop making my own detergent. That will be determined after I've finished the bottle.

Purex Laundry Crystals...a Giveaway!!!

I recently became a Purex Insider! I am so excited about this because it means I get to try out household products for free!!! I received a bottle of Purex Crystals (Fresh Mountain Breeze scent) in the mail last week, and I couldn't wait to try them! I've actually had my eye on them in the store for some time, and here's why...

Some of you may know that a few years ago I started making my own laundry detergent. I did this right before Eliana was born for a few reasons: 

1) I was currently paying $11 per bottle of detergent!!! That was ridiculous! I wanted to find ways to save money, and thanks to Pinterest, this was one way that I found.

2) I wanted to wash Eliana's clothes in a safe detergent that hopefully wouldn't cause her to breakout. Keep in mind this was before she was born, so I didn't know how she would react to different detergents. All of the "baby" detergents were expensive, so this seemed like the best choice. By the way, she has never had any problems with my recipe. 

I love making my own detergent, but I'm still perfecting my recipe, which is why I haven't shared it on here yet. My only complaint is that it doesn't have much of a scent. Some people like that. I, however, love getting clothes out of the washer, and smelling a super clean aroma! Thus the reason I've had my eye on the Purex Crystals! I have considered adding them with my detergent as a laundry enhancer for a while, but I didn't know if they were worth the additional cost.

Fast forward to the present. Now you see why I was excited to get these in the mail! I really wanted to try these with my homemade detergent because it doesn't have much of a smell. However, I have a confession to make. The month of January has been crazy, and I ran out of my detergent! I needed to wash some laundry, and I didn't have time to make any, so I bought one of the cheapest bottles I could find at Walmart. I know, I know, I couldn't believe I did it either.

Anyway, the Purex Crystals are super easy to use! You just pour them into your washer with your detergent! That's it!

I love the smell of the Fresh Mountain Breeze scent! I was anxious to see how the clothes smelled after I washed them! When the washer stopped, I was pleased to find that I opened up the door to a wonderful smell! The clothes smelled so clean and fresh! I then placed the clothes in the dryer, and waited to see how they smelled after they were dry.

Now, I'll confess, I've had a pretty bad cold the last few days, so my nose isn't working as well as I had hoped it would for this review. That being said, I was still quite pleased with the Purex Crystals. I wore a shirt yesterday that was in the load that I washed with them, and throughout the day I caught little whiffs of the Fresh Mountain Breeze scent. I am looking forward to seeing how long the smell lasts. I'll try to write an update once I know. So there you have it...even with a stuffy nose, I thought the Purex Crystals did a great job of freshening the laundry!
